5 Things I would Consider Before Booking a Group Trip

I get it. Going on a group trip, especially your first one, can be a little intimidating. Am I am going to fit in? Where will I sleep? So many questions.
All group travel companies are not created equal. Every one honestly has its own vibe and personality, which is great as there is a definitely a perfect group trip company for everyone. As someone who runs a travel company for women these would be my 5 non-negotiable things to consider.

How Big Is the Group?

Is it truly a small group?

Or are you going to be following someone with a flag, wearing an earpiece while touring a city, and hopping on and off a big bus as you travel around the country?

There is nothing wrong with that style of travel if that's what you're looking for. But it's very different from a small group experience where you actually get to know the people you're traveling with.

2. What Are the Sleeping Arrangements?

This is an important one.

Will you be sharing a room with a stranger?

Will you have to pay a single supplement if you want your own room?

Or will you automatically get a room to yourself?

Make sure you understand exactly what your sleeping arrangements will be before you book.

3. Who Is Leading the Trip?

Is someone from the company you're booking with actually going on the trip?

Or are they simply sending you?

Are there local guides and people on the ground who will introduce you to experiences you would never find on TripAdvisor?

The people leading a trip can completely change the experience.

4. Dig Deep Into the Itinerary

Don't just look at the number of days and the price.

Is the trip full of experiences and full days?

Or are there lots of free days with only one activity planned each day?

A lot of times you're not comparing apples to apples when you're comparing itineraries. Two trips may have the same price tag and the same number of days, but what is actually included can be very different.

5. What Are the Trip Vibes?

This one matters more than people think.

Look at the company's photos, videos, social media, and website.

Can you picture yourself there?

Can you picture yourself spending time with the people on that trip?

Getting a feel for the vibe of a company can tell you a lot about whether a trip is the right fit for you.

Which one is the most important for you, Sunshine?
